Active for 49ers Vernon Davis, Patrick Willis out


Some maligned passing game The San Francisco 49ers' received a pretty hefty boost Thursday night.

USA SPORT NEWS - NFL Insider Media Ian Rapoport reports NFL Network's "NFL Total Access Kickoff" tight end Vernon Davis who will try it on Thursday's game versus the St. Louis Rams.

"Oh yeah," Davis replied that Rapoport when asked if he would play.

List of inactives 49ers' Davis confirms that active for the game.

Davis' hamstring injury is not 100 percent, but Colin Kaepernick need him out there to open up the running lane and draw defensive attention away from the center of wide receivers who struggled to separate against tight man coverage.

Do not be surprised if Davis plays more of a role bait this week.

Patrick Willis Pro Bowl quarterback and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha missed the game with groin and knee, each.

Michael Wilhoite take regional Willis' next NaVorro Bowman at inside midfielder. The untested special teamer will be a player in order to exploit when the ground attack beleaguered Rams' capable.
